Scott D. Siegel, Ph.D.

Dr. Siegel is a licensed psychologist with a specialty in health psychology. He has extensive experience counseling individuals and couples affected by chronic illnesses (e.g., cancer, autoimmune disease, end-of-life conditions, and chronic pain) and grief/bereavement. Beyond his focus on health, Dr. Siegel provides couples counseling for marital problems and individual counseling for depression, general anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and posttraumatic stress.

Dr. Siegel received his B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical health psychology from the University of Miami. He completed his internship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Siegel is on staff at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center in Newark, DE where he provides counseling, conducts research, and trains graduate students. He facilitates a support group for the Cancer Support Community and is active with PAWS for People, a local pet therapy organization. Dr. Siegel receives grant funding from the National Cancer Institute and is an author on over 25 peer-reviewed academic journal articles, book chapters, and published abstracts. He has presented at many professional conferences and is a frequent public speaker at community events.
